The present conjunctive is formed from the first person singular present indicative and is used in subordinate clauses expressing wish, emotion, doubt, and impersonal evaluations.

Irregular eu forms produce irregular conjunctives throughout: ser → seja, estar → esteja, ter → tenha, fazer → faça, saber → saiba, poder → possa, vir → venha.

Also used after: para que (so that), antes que (before), até que (until), embora (although), caso (in case).
