Se fizeres isso, vais arrepender-te.

If you do that, you will regret it.

Se + future conjunctive for a real open future condition.

Quando chegares, liga-me.

When you arrive, call me.

Quando + future conjunctive for a future temporal clause.

💡

Se + future conjunctive (se fizeres) expresses a real open future condition. Do not use se + present indicative for future conditions as in English.

Also used in relative clauses with indefinite antecedents: "Quem quiser participar, que se inscreva." (Whoever wants to participate should register.)
