European Portuguese Vocabulary Guide
Portugal generally enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate, with hot dry summers and mild wet winters. The north is cooler and rainier than the south, and the Algarve is one of the sunniest regions in Europe.
To ask about the weather, say Que tempo faz? For specific forecasts, Vai chover? (Is it going to rain?) and Vai fazer sol? (Is it going to be sunny?) are very useful.
Ontem estava frio e hoje está muito calor — o tempo em Portugal é assim.
Yesterday it was cold and today it is very hot — that is just the weather in Portugal.
