A senhoria, a Dona Amélia, mostra-lhe o quarto.
Oksana arrives in Braga in September, to study. It is still summer: the sun is out and it is thirty degrees. She wears a T-shirt and shorts. The landlady, Dona Amélia, shows her the room. Then she gives her a present: an orange woolly hat. — It's for the winter — she says. Oksana laughs. She is from Ukraine. There, in winter, it is sometimes minus twenty. — Thank you, Dona Amélia. But I'm never cold.
No outono, chove muito. Em novembro, chove ainda mais. Todas as manhãs, a Oksana pergunta: — Que tempo faz hoje?
In autumn, it rains a lot. In November, it rains even more. Every morning, Oksana asks: — What's the weather like today? — It's raining — says Dona Amélia. Oksana buys an umbrella, but she doesn't buy a coat. In the street, people wear coats and scarves. Oksana wears just a jumper. At home, Dona Amélia always has a coat on. — Aren't you going to put a coat on, dear? — No, I'm not. This is spring!
