Depois, dá-lhe dois cartões verdes. — Os comboios para Sintra partem de vinte em vinte minutos. O próximo parte às nove e vinte, da linha dois.

He has lived in Lisbon for two months and still speaks little Portuguese. At the ticket office, he speaks slowly: — Good morning. A ticket to Sintra, please. — Just one way, or there and back? — One there... and two back. The woman at the ticket office looks at him. Then she gives him two green cards. — Trains to Sintra leave every twenty minutes. The next one leaves at twenty past nine, from platform two.

A caixa pequena ainda lá está. Às nove e vinte, o comboio parte. Quarenta minutos depois, chega a Sintra. Há nevoeiro. Os turistas vão todos para os palácios. O Kiran não.
