It's ten o'clock in the morning at Cais do Sodré. Marta has a backpack, a beach towel and a ticket to Cascais. The train leaves at 10:20. But where is the station? Her phone's battery is dead. Marta sees seagulls, boats and a yellow tram. She doesn't see any trains.
Obrigada! O meu comboio sai às dez e vinte! — Calma, menina. Tem tempo. O maquinista ainda está a beber o café.
At a pavement café, a man with a white moustache is drinking a bica. On the table, there's a blue cap next to his cup. — Excuse me, where's the train station? The man points down the street. — Turn left at the pharmacy. Then turn right at the market. Then it's straight on, all the way to the river. It's five minutes. Marta repeats it: — I turn left, I turn right, straight on. Thanks! My train leaves at 10:20! — Take it easy, miss. You've got time. The driver is still drinking his coffee.
