Um Táxi, por Favor

Aeroporto de Faro, quatro da tarde. Está calor e cheira a mar. A Helena é da Suécia, tem sessenta anos e vem visitar a filha. Entra no primeiro táxi da fila. — Boa tarde. Posso pagar com cartão? — Não, desculpe. Muitos táxis aceitam, mas este não. — Não aceita? Mas na Suécia pagamos tudo com cartão! Não tenho um euro.

Faro airport, four in the afternoon. It is hot and the air smells of the sea. Helena is from Sweden, she is sixty and she is here to visit her daughter. Há moedas coladas por todo o lado: libras, dólares, francos... No meio, há um espaço vazio. — Presentes dos clientes — diz o taxista. — De muitos países.
