Grandma Aurora is eighty, with a black handbag and a bank card. The bank on her street has closed. Now, to take out money, she has to use the cash machine. Grandma doesn't know numbers by heart, not even her own mobile number. But she knows every birthday in the family by heart. And the neighbours'. Today is Saturday. Her grandson, Nuno, goes with her to the cash machine by the river, in Setúbal.

— Tu levantas dinheiro aqui? — Levanto, avó. Todas as semanas.

— I don't like machines — says Grandma. — Do you take money out here? — I do, Grandma. Every week. It's very easy. First, the card. Then, the PIN — Nuno explains. Grandma puts the card in the machine and looks at her grandson. — Turn the other way, Nuno. The PIN is a secret — she says. Nuno turns around and stands watching the seagulls on the river.
