On Diogo's street, in Guimarães, there is a rooster. Nobody knows where it lives. Nobody sees it. But every morning, at seven o'clock sharp, it crows: cock-a-doodle-doo! The rooster wakes up the whole street: the man from the grocer's, the teacher, and Diogo, who opens the café on the square at eight. Only Mr Abílio, the upstairs neighbour, always wakes up before the rooster.
Hoje, o Diogo acorda sozinho.
Today, Diogo wakes up on his own. There is sun in the bedroom and silence in the street. Where is the rooster? His phone's battery is dead. He opens the window and asks a woman: — Excuse me, what time is it? — It's ten past nine — she answers. Ten past nine! Diogo gets dressed in a minute and runs out.
