Para Inês, uma estudante de antropologia, estas histórias eram uma obsessão. Ela tinha ouvido falar de uma 'Moura' que habitava numa fonte escondida e que tinha a missão de proteger um tesouro incalculável. In the isolated mountains of Serra da Estrela, where granite and ice merge into austere landscapes, the legends of Enchanted Moors are not just bedtime stories for children. For Inês, an anthropology student, these stories were an obsession. She had heard of a 'Moura' who lived in a hidden fountain and had the mission to protect an incalculable treasure. According to oral tradition, these creatures are supernatural beings who remained trapped between two worlds after the Christian Reconquista, waiting for someone to release them from the spell. But Inês suspected that the term 'treasure' did not refer to gold or jewels, but to something much more vital for human survival.

Numa tarde fria de outono, Inês decidiu subir até ao Vale Glaciar para investigar uma ruína megalítica que os habitantes locais evitavam. Diziam que a fonte ali perto era protegida por uma entidade que aparecia sob a forma de uma serpente ou de uma mulher belíssima que penteava os seus cabelos dourados com um pente de ouro. Ao chegar ao local, Inês sentiu uma energia vibrante no ar. A água da fonte era de uma pureza cristalina, e em redor cresciam ervas medicinais raras. Ela percebeu que o papel daquelas figuras lendárias era, na verdade, proteger os recursos naturais essenciais da região, mantendo o equilíbrio ecológico através do medo e do respeito religioso.

They said that the fountain nearby was protected by an entity that appeared in the form of a serpent or a beautiful woman who combed her golden hair with a gold comb. Upon arriving at the site, Inês felt a vibrant energy in the air. The fountain water was of crystalline purity, and rare medicinal herbs grew around it.
