A Viagem de Comboio

No sábado passado, a Sofia ia para Lisboa de comboio pela primeira vez completamente sozinha, sem ninguém para a acompanhar. Era verdadeiramente a primeira vez que ia fazer esta viagem longa sem os seus pais ou qualquer outra pessoa de confiança. O seu coração batia rapidamente com uma mistura muito complexa de excitação genuína e medo legítimo do desconhecido. Sofia tinha vinte e cinco anos de idade e tinha finalmente decidido de forma determinada que queria explorar o mundo exterior de forma completamente independente, sem qualquer receio ou hesitação que pudesse impedi-la de realizar os seus sonhos.

Last Saturday, Sofia was going to Lisbon by train for the very first time completely alone, with no one to accompany her. It was truly the first time that she was going to make this long journey without her parents or any other trusted person. Her heart was beating fast with a very complex mixture of genuine excitement and legitimate fear of the unknown. Sofia was twenty-five years old and had finally decided determinedly that she wanted to explore the outside world in a completely independent way, without any fear or hesitation that could prevent her from realizing her dreams.

Na estação de comboios muito movimentada, ela comprou cuidadosamente a sua passagem de trem e depois procurou muito atentamente pela plataforma correta entre as muitas que existiam. Enquanto ia na direção da plataforma de partida, viu um homem idoso que carregava uma mala extremamente pesada que parecia quase impossível de levantar. Ele parecia claramente muito cansado e tinha visível dificuldade em andar corretamente. Sofia foi imediatamente sem hesitação e ofereceu-se generosamente para ajudá-lo com a sua mala pesada e incómoda.

At the very busy train station, she carefully bought her train ticket and then searched very attentively for the correct platform among the many that existed. While she was going in the direction of the departure platform, she saw an elderly man who was carrying an extremely heavy suitcase that seemed almost impossible to lift. He looked clearly very tired and had visible difficulty walking correctly. Sofia immediately went without hesitation and generously offered to help him with his heavy and awkward suitcase.
