A Reunião Importante

A reunião começava às dez da manhã. A Maria estava muito nervosa, com o coração a bater rapidamente dentro do peito. Ela trabalhava na empresa há cinco anos como coordenadora de projetos importantes e nunca tinha apresentado um projeto tão crucial ao diretor geral da companhia. O seu trabalho era gerir as contas de várias clientes internacionais de grande importância e agora tinha a oportunidade única de mostrar o seu talento, conhecimento e capacidades profissionais.

The meeting was starting at ten in the morning. Maria was very nervous, with her heart beating fast inside her chest. She had worked at the company for five years as a coordinator of important projects and had never presented such a crucial project to the company's general director. Her work was managing the accounts of various international clients of great importance and now she had the unique opportunity to show her talent, knowledge, and professional abilities.

"Estou pronta?" perguntou ela nervosamente ao seu colega João, enquanto caminhavam em silêncio para a sala de reuniões executivas no décimo andar do edifício. Ele estava sempre ao seu lado, sorrindo com encorajamento sincero e confiança genuína nas suas capacidades. "Claro que sim, sem dúvida," respondeu ele com firmeza e certeza. "Am I ready?" she asked nervously to her colleague João, while they walked in silence towards the executive meeting room on the tenth floor of the building. He was always by her side, smiling with sincere encouragement and genuine confidence in her abilities. "Of course yes, without doubt," he answered with firmness and certainty. "Your work is absolutely excellent and very well done. You have everything you need to succeed in this important meeting. You have the correct professional skills, you have the necessary experience, you have the intelligence and creativity."

Quando entrou finalmente na sala grande e elegantemente decorada, o diretor estava sentado à mesa de madeira escura, concentrado a ler alguns documentos importantes e confidenciais. A temperatura da sala estava extremamente fria porque o sistema de ar condicionado estava ajustado muito alto. Mas Maria estava já a começar a aquecer consigo mesma com o seu próprio nervosismo crescente. Ela respirou profundamente fundo três vezes seguidas e depois aproximou-se lentamente da mesa com determinação clara e passos firmes.

When she finally entered the large and elegantly decorated room, the director was sitting at the dark wooden table, concentrated on reading some important and confidential documents. The temperature in the room was extremely cold because the air conditioning system was adjusted very high. But Maria was already beginning to warm up with her own growing nervousness. She breathed deeply three times in a row and then slowly approached the table with clear determination and firm steps.

"Bom dia, Senhor Diretor Geral," disse ela com toda a educação apropriada, estendendo formalmente a mão para um aperto de mão profissional tradicional, e depois começou calmamente a falar sobre o seu projeto muito inovador. "Good morning, Mister General Director," she said with all appropriate politeness, formally extending her hand for a traditional professional handshake, and then calmly began to speak about her very innovative project. She explained with absolute clarity each important section of the commercial proposal. While she spoke with growing confidence, she was truly becoming increasingly confident and completely relaxed. The financial and statistical data that she had meticulously prepared during entire weeks of intensive work were absolutely very convincing and impressively well presented. The director was clearly visually impressed, frequently nodding his head demonstrating clear approval.

Meia hora mais tarde, após várias questões técnicas e discussões profundas sobre os detalhes, o diretor disse finalmente: "Maria, isto está verdadeiramente excelente. Ela estava tão feliz e emocionada que quase não conseguia acreditar verdadeiramente em o que estava a ouvir com os seus próprios ouvidos. Quando saiu finalmente da sala de reuniões, o João perguntou imediatamente com curiosidade: "Como foi a reunião importante?" E Maria respondeu com um grande sorriso genuíno: "Estou absolutamente incrível e felicíssima! Consegui verdadeiramente alcançar tudo o que sempre sonhei profissionalmente!"

Half an hour later, after several technical questions and deep discussions about the details, the director finally said: "Maria, this is truly excellent. I will completely approve your ambitious project and we will implement it immediately in the company. This will completely change everything for our organization in the market." She was so happy and emotional that she could hardly truly believe what she was hearing with her own ears. When she finally left the meeting room, João immediately asked with curiosity: "How did the important meeting go?" And Maria answered with a genuine big smile: "I am absolutely incredible and very happy! I truly managed to achieve everything I always dreamed of professionally!"
