O Robô da Cozinha

A família Santos recebeu um robô doméstico chamado ALEX. O robô prometia ajudar em todas as tarefas de casa. No primeiro dia, todos estavam curiosos.

The Santos family received a domestic robot called ALEX. The robot promised to help with all household tasks. On the first day, everyone was curious.

ALEX ajudou a mãe a cozinhar o jantar. Cortou os legumes com precisão perfeita e ajudou a limpar a cozinha em cinco minutos. "Nunca tive uma ajuda tão eficiente," disse a mãe admirada.

ALEX helped the mother to cook dinner. It cut the vegetables with perfect precision and helped clean the kitchen in five minutes. "I have never had such efficient help," the mother said, amazed.

Mas o filho mais novo, Tomás, não queria a ajuda do robô nos trabalhos de casa. "O ALEX dá-me as respostas certas, mas não me explica porquê," disse ele. "O professor ajuda-me a perceber. O robô só me dá respostas."

But the youngest son, Tomás, did not want the robot's help with homework. "ALEX gives me the right answers, but doesn't explain why," he said. "The teacher helps me understand. The robot just gives me answers."

O pai pensou. Tomás tinha razão. ALEX ajudava a fazer, mas não ajudava a aprender. Decidiram usar o robô apenas para as tarefas domésticas. Para aprender, ainda precisavam da ajuda humana.
