Naquela terça-feira, Mateus chegou a casa às sete da tarde. Tinha fome. Abriu o frigorífico e viu o que tinha: queijo, iogurte e ovos. A sua gata Mia também tinha fome — tinha a tigela completamente vazia e olhava para ele com os olhos grandes.
That Tuesday, Mateus arrived home at seven in the evening. He was hungry. He opened the fridge and saw what he had: cheese, yoghurt and eggs. His cat Mia was also hungry — she had a completely empty bowl and was looking at him with big eyes.
Mateus deu comida à Mia e depois fez uma omelete para si. Comeu bem e bebeu um copo de água. Quando terminou, tinha sono. Às dez da noite já tinha os olhos fechados. Dormiu toda a noite — na manhã seguinte, nem se lembrava que tinha tido tanta fome.
Mateus gave food to Mia and then made himself an omelette. He ate well and drank a glass of water. When he finished, he was sleepy. By ten at night he already had his eyes closed. He slept all night — in the morning he could not even remember being so hungry.
