Luís tem vinte e dois anos e mora em Lisboa com os seus pais. A sua prima Carla, que vive no Brasil, vem a Portugal pela primeira vez este mês. Luís está muito animado. A Carla vem de avião desde o Rio de Janeiro e chega amanhã de manhã. Luís não a vê há cinco anos.
Luís is twenty-two years old and lives in Lisbon with his parents. His cousin Carla, who lives in Brazil, is coming to Portugal for the first time this month. Luís is very excited. Carla is coming by plane from Rio de Janeiro and arrives tomorrow morning. Luís has not seen her in five years.
A mãe de Luís, a D. Helena, prepara o quarto de hóspedes. — A Carla vem ficar duas semanas connosco — diz ela. — Já sei, mãe. Ela vem ver Lisboa pela primeira vez! Vamos mostrar-lhe tudo — responde Luís. — O irmão dela também queria vir, mas não pode — diz a mãe.
