Clara and her friend Hugo enter a restaurant in Alfama. The waiter asks: "What would you like to drink?" Hugo says: "I always drink water. I drink two litres of water a day." Clara laughs. "I don't drink that much. I'll have a glass of red wine, please."

O empregado traz a água e o vinho. "Bebeste o vinho todo!" diz Hugo. "É muito bom!" diz Clara. "Bebes vinho muitas vezes?" pergunta Hugo.

The waiter brings the water and the wine. "You drank all the wine!" says Hugo. "It's very good!" says Clara. "Do you drink wine often?" Hugo asks. "Not often. I only drink at dinner, at weekends." Hugo drinks his glass of water. "I used to drink wine, but now I prefer water."
