A Mudança para Coimbra

Para Ana, o dia da mudança foi um misto de emoções. Ela tinha passado toda a sua vida no Algarve, perto do mar e do calor constante, mas agora era altura de viver uma nova aventura. O destino era Coimbra, a famosa 'Cidade dos Estudantes', onde ela iria estudar Direito na universidade mais antiga de Portugal. Enquanto o carro subia a autoestrada em direção ao norte, Ana olhava para as caixas no banco de trás e pensava em como seria viver sozinha, longe da família e dos amigos de infância. Era um desafio enorme, mas ela sentia-se pronta para crescer e descobrir quem realmente era.

For Ana, moving day was a mixture of emotions. She had spent her whole life in the Algarve, near the sea and the constant heat, but now it was time to live a new adventure. The destination was Coimbra, the famous 'City of Students', where she would study Law at the oldest university in Portugal. As the car drove up the highway towards the north, Ana looked at the boxes in the back seat and thought about what it would be like to live alone, far from her family and childhood friends. It was a huge challenge, but she felt ready to grow and discover who she really was.

Ao chegar a Coimbra, a primeira coisa que Ana viu foi a silhueta majestosa da Universidade no topo da colina. A cidade parecia respirar história em cada esquina. As ruas eram estreitas, íngremes e cobertas de calçada portuguesa que brilhava sob a chuva miudinha de outono. Ana tinha alugado um quarto numa 'república' — uma casa de estudantes tradicional onde a vida em comunidade é a regra. Ao entrar, foi recebida por um grupo de jovens vestidos de preto, com capas longas que pareciam saídas de um filme. Eram os veteranos, que a acolheram com sorrisos e muitas histórias sobre o que significa viver em Coimbra.

Upon arriving in Coimbra, the first thing Ana saw was the majestic silhouette of the University at the top of the hill. The city seemed to breathe history at every corner. The streets were narrow, steep, and covered with Portuguese pavement that glistened under the fine autumn rain. Ana had rented a room in a 'república' — a traditional student house where community life is the rule. Upon entering, she was greeted by a group of young people dressed in black, with long capes that looked like they were out of a movie. They were the seniors, who welcomed her with smiles and many stories about what it means to live in Coimbra.
